What is West Virginia GEAR UP?

WV GEAR UP is a federally funded, six-year program aimed at Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs. GEAR UP provides rigorous educational services to help students plan, apply and pay for education and training beyond high school. The program serves schools within ten counties.

The 2010 GEAR UP Incentive Award

The 2010 application period is now closed.

Letters notifying students who applied were mailed June 30, 2010. West Virginia GEAR UP awarded more than $600,000 to help 515 students attend college this fall. For details about the award click here.
