Kendyl Ryan recognized during 2014 MASFAA conference

Kendyl Ryan awarded 2014 MASFAA access awardThe Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA) today presented the 2014 MASFAA Access Award to Kendyl Ryan for her outstanding work in promoting college opportunities. Kendyl is a GEAR UP graduate of Scott High School in Boone County. While in high school, she helped found Scott High’s Higher Education Readiness Officer (HERO) group, a student-led initiative focused on encouraging and assisting young people in pursuing education and training beyond high school. Kendyl also was recognized as an exemplary GEAR UP student during the 2012 National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP) national conference.

GEAR UP staff would like to extend a big congratulations to Kendyl on her recent award — and a “thank you” to MASFAA for their recognition of her hard work and dedication. The success of the GEAR UP program would not be possible without the talent, vision and energy of our students, parents, educators and community partners!
